By the end of the 20th century, there was a theoretical and methodological enrichment in the social sciences in general and security studies in particular. One reflection of this development has been the expansion of the scope of security studies to include war and strategy studies. This development within the framework of the field of science and academic discipline has affected the traditional military and strategy subjects in the curricula of military higher education institutions in Turkey and has been reflected in the expanding scope of security studies in the programs of military higher education institutions. Founded in 2016, the Turkish Military Academy, which was incorporated into the National Defense University, pioneered the studies in a sense. In this context, this section discusses the structural and academic reflections of the change in security studies on the Turkish Military Academy until the establishment of the National Defense University.
